Hello all!

This is my first post here and I would like to say congratulations to everyone who has endured the trials and tribulations of Nursing School. I am 31, have 2 children, one is 3 and the other is 1, and I should graduate (God Willing) in May 2002 with my BSN.

Thank goodness!:) Good luck to all of the future nurses here, keep your chin up and strive for the best in all that you do.

Just turned 26 yesterday! I appreciate college so much more now than I did when I tried it at age 18!

hello all!

i am 29 dreading turning 30!! I graduated with my Bsn at 23. I don't know if i'd be able to do it if i was just starting now LOL!! Good luck to all of you it will be over before you know it

Specializes in SICU.

I graduated when I was 25 (I'm 34 now). My husband is an LPN. He's in his third semester of clinicals (only one more, YEAH!) and he's 35. He'll graduate at age 36. He's not the oldest in his class, but is one of the oldest, and the only one with 14 years of nursing experience.

28 will be 29 in July

Specializes in Mental health, organization and leadership.

I´m 25 , live in Sweden and I will graduate in June. I think most of the people in my class are about 25-30.

I'm 28 and in my first semster of nursing school. After taking the pre-req It seems to me at least at my shool that the older students usually do better than the guys straight out of high school. Maybe its the level of commitment, I don't know?

Hi to all! I am new to the board and wanted to say that I have been just checking out the site for the last few months and decided to finally join. I am 34 years old, I have two teenage daughters, and I have recently returned to school to become an LPN. I am taking Human Nutrition, Intro to Psychology, Intro to Computers, and Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 with the Lab. I wanted to get a lot of the things out of the way for when I start clinicals. I take my nursing entrance exam on March 21, 2002 and I am so nervous. Right now, I have a B average, but they only accept 25, so I am not quite sure what the future holds for me. I wish since there was a terrible shortage of nurses in Arkansas, as well as the whole nation, that they would accept more. I can only hope and pray for now. Ok, that is enough about me for now. I just wanted to say hi and this really seems to be a great place to come and relax and rant and make great friends. Keep up the good work! :chuckle :chuckle :)

I'm 28 (29 in July). I started back to school part-time when I was 26, am full-time now and will graduate when I'm 31!!! ugh. I really have to remind myself on a regular basis that I WANTED this!!!

LOL!

I like that I'm doing this at this age. I actually appreciate everything. I don't think my younger counterparts really do appreciate school. When it's time, they'll learn. ;)

Hi Alyssa,

I'll be 29 when I finish my program too....provided that I get in for Sept 2002.....:D .....I know what you mean about your younger counterparts....I don't think they do appreciate the decisions they have made. That's ashame.....but I know that I have too. I have taken a lot of time off from school due to financial reasons and for my family.....now it's time for me...and I'm loving it.....:roll

I'm 32 and yes, the daytime students are younger. The average age is 20 - 21. I'm the only one in class with gray hair. I also have a job and two kids. Best advice - Don't sweat the small stuff. I have to take each day as it comes and work for the best. I wish you luck with your education:cool:
