I am curious to know how many times as an RN did you change jobs in order to ultimately find your niche in nursing?

I ask this because I am now having regrets for starting as a RN in adult cardiology...I think I like it much better in pediatrics.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Homecare, UR, Case Mgt.

7 in 10 years. 3 travel jobs in hospitals, workers comp case mngt, insurance utilization review, hospital case mgt, home care. Still looking for my niche

Specializes in O.R., ED, M/S.

31 years as an RN, 9 months on M/S, some ER but the rest in the OR. Nursing has all the possibilities you would want from a profession and so many areas to choose from. Nothing wrong with trying a few areas until you find your niche.
