Hi again guys,
I am going to start my prerequisites this summer, and I'm trying to draw up a plan on what to take when. I just wanted to get some ideas. I will not be working and do not have children or any commitments. In order to be able to apply to two BSN programs they require many more prerequisites than the ADNs I am applying for, so I will need to take roughly 40-50 credits in prerequisites. But I am not sure how I should divide them up? And how many to take in the summer, winter, spring and fall. I would appreciate any tips!
PS I did do amazing in Maths not Sciences in high school (B's) so I will be taking my time, most likely a year and a half from start to application.

It depends on the class.
English, psychology and nutrition? Yeah you could probably get away with taking them all in the same semester.
A&P, chem or microbiology, all with lab? No way.
I tried to take 1 science prereq paired up with another non science prereq. If you want to take a prereq over the summer, i would stick to something you know you can knock out of the park. Summer and winter classes are accelerated and it's easy to fall behind if you don't stay on top of it. It's not necessarily a race; it's far more important to get high marks in these classes than it is to get them done asap.
Best of luck! :)

EDIT: DIDNT* do amazing in maths and science haha! my mistake!
thank you for the insight!
Do you think 9 credits online in the summer is doable? For example English COMP, Computer applications, and freshman seminar? These seem fairly doable, difficult for the time frame but doable.
As of sciences, how do you feel about pairing up a math and a science? or for example 2 sciences like Micro and Chem, but only those in a whole semester?
Thanks so much!
I've taken 9 units over the summer before but they weren't online. Keep in mind, there's a lot of self teaching with online classes so you don't want to completely overwhelm yourself. I personally liked having more lecture classes for accelerated courses. But if that's your only commitment for the summer, then you could probably manage; it's just going to require a lot of focus and time management. You know your study habits better than anyone, so if you know you can do it then go for it.
In terms of taking 2 sciences at once during a semester, I wouldn't recommend it but that's just me. Even if they are the only courses you're taking, sciences are a lot of work. I've spoken to several people that have tried to take 2 science prereqs together and they weren't able to pull A's in both.
I've always gone the safe route, but that's just me. Id rather go at a pace that i know will give me a chance to get A's, than race through it and potentially have to retake the class.
Dont put more on your plate than you know you can handle. If you're just now starting your prerequisite courses, then get a feel for a load that you can manage first.

So many pre-reqs???? Are you a first time college student? The best advice I can give to you is speak to an advisor for your program. He/she will be able to tell you what courses to take first, next, and last; in other words, he/she will develop a sequence for you. When I had no idea which classes to take, I spoke to my nursing advisor who was able to spread my pre-reqs across two years and she also gave me a rationale for why she planned that sequence for me.

If you take Micro and Chem together that would be 8 credits, 2 labs, lots of lecture and homework. Online is a good way to go but keep in mind freshman seminar (or whatever ) you may have to attend (they want you on campus ). Even for Computers online we had to take midterm and final on site. Just some things to keep in mind
