I've got 4 clinical instructors. So far I've had two. The first one was happy to do it, but she's so busy and I don't think she'll ever get it to me. The second one, I get the vibe that she doesn't like me so much, not that I'm incompetent, but that she just doesn't like me. I'm going to ask her for one, but I'm perparing myself to be turned down.
So....is it a big deal if I don't come out of school with recommendation letters from clinical instructors? I get good grades, all my classmates like me, my patients have always raved about me to my clinical instructors. I don't want a personality clash to be the reason I don't get jobs after graduation.
Thanks!

not a big deal, i've never had them, references have worked just fine for me.

Maybe get one letter of recommendation but ask others to be references. I have only ever given three on a resume. IMHO, the better the title of the reference, the more impressed your interviewer. I happen to go to church with several "higher ups" in business and education in the area and because I know them well, allow me to use them for reference. I do plan to use an instructor as a reference as well.

I have a letter of recommendation from one of our lead instructors, one from a boss in the world of "before nursing" that has been handy once, and everything else is references.
