How many hours do Nurse Techs and Externs work a week?

I'm sure the answer will vary, but it would be great to get a feel for what hours they expect you to work, how many hours, etc. I know they would HAVE to know that you're a student, so I was interested in seeing how flexible they are when scheduling working hours.

I am required to work 4 weekend shifts a month, weekends start Friday afternoon and go to Sunday midnights. I can choose any shift between that time. I worked a lot during the summer but now that school is starting I will only work one 8 hour shift a week.

I've been working 40+ hours/week for the summer, and will continue for the first couple of weeks of school, then cut back to 24-28hours once exams start (2-8 hour weekday shifts, and 8's or 12's every other weekend, depending on my unit's needs).
