Hello Everyone! I am currently finishing up my pre reqs for nursing school at Glendale Community College. The program I am hoping to get accepted to says they require a 3.0 GPA (NAU PROGRAM THROUGH GCC). I am hoping to be done in the summer, but I am extremely worried about my grades having a negative effect on my acceptance. I have 3 C's so far (one in microbio which I took in a 5 week course over the summer and would never recommend anyone to do, the other in HS chemistry, and my last in math). Has anyone gotten accepted into the BSN program with 3 C's?

Hi there -
I'm assuming this is GCC in Arizona and not GCC in California, right? Have you spoken with an advisor there about the concurrent program?
Entry into the GCC nursing program is competitive entry. In other words, even if you meet the minimum requirements of the GPA, it doesn't guarantee you a place; you'll be up against other applicants and hence your GPA will be looked at. They also take into account your HESI score (have you taken the HESI test yet?) and other degrees you may have etc.
All applicants to the CEP have to be accepted into the nursing program before they will send your application to the University of your choice. In other words, if you were accepted into the GCC nursing program, and had a 3.0 GPA, then you would almost certainly be accepted by NAU.
I would suggest talking with an advisor, start studying for your HESI (if you haven't already), and really focus on keeping your GPA as high as possible. When you submit your application you want it to be as best as it can be because you will be competing for a seat against everyone else who applied.
Remember that even if GCC is your first choice, there are other colleges you can put down for your 2nd or 3rd choice.
Best of luck to you!!
