I am a new graduate LPN, (graduated aug. 08) I currently work in a nursing home as night charge nurse (all by my self, and 2 CNAs) I have had 5 years experirnece in the nursing home setting. I would love to have a nursing job in the hospital setting. i did hospital setting in my clinical experience and LOVED IT. I have applied nurmorously to Meritcare and Innovis (when they have any openings) but never had a call. I think my resume looks good, I am a pretty good interviewer, and i know that if they give me a chance I can give quality work and care. I just wonder what is it that the nursing employers what to see on a new grads resume and in the interview, without any experience as a LPN (5 months).
Thank you for listening.

Sorry you havent heard back form any of these employers. Have you tried calling their HR dept? I would call and inquire on the status of your application. Then maybe you could let them know how interested you are in working for them or if you live in the Fargo area just drop by dressed your best with a resume in hand. Sometimes these places are really slow at responding and I am sure with the way the economy is at the moment that they probably arent hiring as quickly as they used too. The best of luck to you in your job search.
