How long will it take me to graduate after my pre-nursing program??

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello People! I am currently taking my pre-requisites classes, Is it possible for me to transfer to another college after the classes? How long will it take me to earn my BSN in a 4 year college after the successful completion of the pre-nursing program?

A BSN is a Bachelor's degree in nursing, which will take four years (the exception being someone who is already a licensed RN from a lower-degree program who does a "bridge" to earn a BSN--but that's not you, right?). If you're coming to nursing for the first time, now, you can expect the classes that you are taking to qualify to enter the nursing program to be time spent in addition to the core (matriculated) curriculum.

In other words, if you're at a community college, taking pre-reqs for their nursing program, they would be the same ones you'd need to take at the four-year one. The clinical nursing component of both would be two years; the extra time at the four-year school includes the pre-reqs you are taking now--unless the classes you are taking are not at the level the four-year school requires for entry-level students, and you have to "work your way up" to their entry classes. I don't know, as I'm not familiar with your exact schedule :)

In a nutshell, if ALL of your credits transfer to the four-year school, and you have completed ALL of the pre-reqs, in theory you would then finish in two years there. That said, it's unlikely the four-year school would do that; many times they want you to have certain classes that THEY offer completed before you can graduate. In addition, there are classes that make up the BSN program that are not offered in the ADN program (otherwise, wouldn't they BE the same degree?)....so consider the time it would take to complete those....and that no one would know except the Admissions counselor at the college you're considering making the transfer to, so that's the phone call you need to make.

Thank you! I already called and was told that all of my documents would be evaluated by some bodies, in which a decision will be made to know may be I might need to take some more classes or not before I can start the nursing program

4 years. good luck with ur program!
