How long til IL BON approves application?

U.S.A. Illinois

Hi all,

I am a frustrated new graduate ( yay!) moving from MN to Chicago in about 5 weeks. I really want to get my NCLEX scheduled ASAP! (Taking Kaplan right now).

All my classmates (staying in MN for the most part) received their ATT numbers on Monday of this week. Does IL take especially long to send those out? I've done the registering, paying of fees, etc. On the Pearson Vue website it shows my status as "Eligibility Pending". I've called Pearson Vue candidate services 4 times TODAY and got nowhere. They just re-sent me my registration confirmation email (gee, thanks :uhoh3: ). I called the CTS (continental testing service) and got recorded messages with no option to talk to anyone. Has anyone else had experience with this?

I've also had a tough time finding a JOB in Chicago. I've applied for MANY staff RN positions and feel like I get no where (when I say many, I mean no less than 50 positions at several different hospitals). I do the follow-up calls, emails, etc. and get the standard "We will contact you if we want to interview you." I know my resume doesn't have anything stellar on it - but I think it likely resembles that of any other new grad out there. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

tnx much for d rep bebe13!

Specializes in post surgical, tele, icu.

got my temporary permit in about 2 weeks, just waiting on fbi check for permanent licensure

Specializes in NICU, Vascular, Oncology, Telemetry.

Just a little update -- and thanks to all who've responded -- I found out that the temporary permit will take about 2 weeks, no working before that, endorsement takes longer. Just like you all said! :lol2: Still looking for a job... I have an interview next week at Saint Marys and Elizabeth Medical Center. Anyone know anything about that place? Sounds like they are going through lots of transition and merging of services...also it might be quite a commute for me, but we'll see. I'm excited.

And what is up with University of Chicago not calling me for an interview?? :( I really really wanted to work there.... are they just super choosy?

So far me and the fiance are loving the city; I'll love it more when I have a paycheck rolling in;)
