I have been employed by a Home Health Agency as a Home Health aide. Its been 15 days since my orientation day and I have only worked once as a substitute, which was just a few hours.
My classmates, who are at the same company as me, have been given many more clients and have regular schedules. What should I do? Is it me or are there just no clients?
I have called, but they tell me that they only have one clients, but it's like 40 miles away fro my house.
Any ideas? What was your experience like? How long did it take for you to get a steady schedule?
Thanks

Just be patient it will come. All the sudden there will be a new client that will fit you. There are times where you don't have much work, and then all the sudden they might be calling you so much with new clients you feel you have to turn them down.
Just make sure they know how much you want to work, and just once in awhile call them up, but watch it that you don't become annoying. As someone at my works office said once the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Good Luck I know it can be hard sometimes starting out. Just know that many of these schedulers understand their jobs and they match up the best they can with what the client needs vs what will make you happy. Many people know you won't be happy long with a client that is 40 miles away, so they want to give you a client base that is closer to your home, and also being new they might want to start you out with an easier client as well. One they know you will be able to handle without feeling like you are over your head.
