How long did you study for the TEAS?

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing well ?

This is my first time asking questions on here. I am taking the Teas V on December 18, and I have started studying last week. I am totally freaking out about this exam. I have not been focusing too well while studying.

I have two questions:

1. How long have you studied for and what were your results?

2. Can you give me some tips on how to prep for the TEAS.

Thanks!

I have taken it twice. Once 10 years ago before I did my LPN program, and then again this year when I decided to apply for the bridge program.

I'm not even going to lie, I didn't study AT ALL for either of them. I scored in the low 80s on both. I don't recommend that, but I did get into both programs I wanted so *shrug*

I wouldn't stress out too much over it.

Good luck to you both!

Are you a 4.0 student? My thoughts were to just take the examine without studying but then I don't know if that is taking too big of a chance. Do you think an average student could pass without studying?

Yes, I'm an average student

I studied for the TEAS V for around 2 or 3 weeks and passed with an 86 or so.

I would HIGHLY recommend taking the practice exams online - yes, they are a bit pricey, but they *really* help you see your weak points. Also use study guides and take the tests in them as well! Once you know your strengths and weaknesses, use the study guide to focus, and perhaps Google some review on weak points. Khan Academy is excellent for math - and I think it has some science lessons as well. :)

You got this!!! :D

I studied for two weeks using the ati book and an app. I went through all the math problems to refresh my brain, since you cannot use a calculator. I also read over the science section and reading section. I also completed the two practice tests in the ati book. I think what was most helpful though was the phone application. It gives you tons of practice questions and you can see what areas you are weak in. I ended up completing like 400 practice questions overall. If I was in line or waiting I would practice on the app. I like that it also gave an explanation for the answers as well. I was freaking out that I should have studied more, but ended up doing well! Don't stress yourself out about it, as it won't help! Good luck! Let us know how you do. My adjusted score overall was 92.
