How Long Did Part Timers Wait

Hi! I saw no one had answered your post yet. I am not applying until September (finishing up my last 2 pre-req...woohoo! ), but I will also be applying to the Gateway part-time program. Unfortunately, Glendale is a little too far away, or I would put that as one of my choices as well. Hopefully, someone will answer soon. I too would be intereste to see if the it is the same wait time for the part-time as full-time and accelerated. I so want to do the accelerated, but there is no way to do that and work full time. Still gotta' pay those bills. Good luck to you!

Yay for being done with pre-req's! I applied in June of '07 and I too live pretty far from Glendale (East Mesa) so I was hoping to get into Gateway. The frustrating thing is that Gateway only lets in 20 people at a time, and they only admit once a year instead of every semester. The last semester Gateway let anyone in for part time way Fall 07, and they were supposed to do the next one Fall 08, but decided to wait for the Spring 09 semester. So for 1 1/2 years Gateway has only started 20 people in their part time program. So if there are a bunch of people waiting for Gateway, it could be awhile. I wish MCC or CGCC would start part time programs. Glendale I believe starts every semester, but they too only let 20 people in at a time, and like you said, its really far away. Anyways, maybe someone who's already been admitted will have some insight, thanks and good luck to you too!

I didn't know they only admitted 1 X/yr and only 20 students at Gateway. That is disappointing to hear. Maybe a miracle can happen and we both get in for the Spring 09 semester...LOL:chuckle. You have already been waiting a year! I wish MCC or CGCC would open a part-time too. Is the Gateway program the only option you put on your application, or did you list more than one? I wonder why they cancelled the Fall 08 cohort? Hopefully, not too many people are waiting for the part-time. Wishful thinking on my part I know.
