Go to your board of nursing and see what they tell you for the true information. Usually you must submit proof of your past licence and there are test sites that will accomodate you not making you take the classes again but allow you to demonstrate skills and test skills also. Having met those requirements you may be reinstated. The cost varies from test site to test site. State to state would also be different. Where are you located? Cay

I am in fayetteville, georgia but I got certified in jonesboro, georgia
It is good that you are in the same state. The board should have past information of your CNA. You should be able to locate a site with an internet search giving you information on where to go and test. It should be an all day long, with testing on the bedside care and a written test also.
Good Luck

Ok what was not brought up If you lost your CNA due to cause , like then there might be a waiting period .
If you ever injured a Pt verbal or other wise like hit a Pt You may no be allowed to work in Pt care again.Or like in Utah Your history will come up if when they do the back round check.
If its just that your CNA lapsed You should just call your CNA board or nursing board to find out where the testing site is .Utah make's Them take both the written and the bedside care on two diffrent days .I would advise you to get a book from the library to just kind of test your self. Its pretty easy just nice when can ace the small stuff you didn't remember. all the
Also one thing they look for here in Utah is how you interact with the Pt First wash your hands before everything and I mean everything .That you indrouce your self to the Pt Like hello Mrs Garica I am scarlet Your CNA They look for this .Tell the pt what you plan to do how you plan to tranfer them what would you do if a Pt refused care. Make sure you remove the pedals on the wheel chair .Before you do the tranfer and when the RN ask you tell them its for Pt safety .when the RN gives you a thing to do, question if you don't understand your instrustion .Like they told me on my test to place the Pt on there side ,I asked does the Pt have weakness and what side do you want me to place them on .Then make sure you have pillows in between the knees in the front for Pt to hold in the back to hold them over and under the head well .
Your vitals must be right on the money as they test it with a double bell head.
They will test you on isolation tec.make sure you wash your hands then apply the gown then put gloves over the gown .
On the written they tested us on all the abrevearations How to tell if your Pt was haveing a reaction to diabeties and what to do which vary from state to state.Like on our test in Utah They said in a homehealth if your Pt was having a reaction what would you do give sugar call your RN/superviser or give OJ The answer here in Utah was give OJ .In califorina it was call your superviser /Rn So that's why I say glance though the CNA test book .
good luck /Stay sharp
