How should I prepare for a IR job?

Published

I just accepted a job in interventional radiology that I'm very excited for. It's at a comprehensive stroke center so they do all the neuro interventions as well as other special procedures. Before this I worked at an outpatient surgical facility in the PACU and before that I was an ER nurse for 2 years.  I am a bit nervous to come back to the hospital and care for more critical patients than what I'm used to in the outpatient center. What can I expect in IR? What should I bring with me? (Like do I need my stethoscope?) and is there anything I can do to be more prepared on day one? Are there a lot of codes in IR? Any info or advice would be appreciated! ?

Sorry I am late on the reply. How is your new IR job going?
