Patient Safety

Looking for some insight on pre procedure checklist, time out process and if anyone here does an end time-out? Or have to do end counts (counting materials used similar to how the OR proceeds). Thank you

I'd encourage you to formulate your own checklist, incorporating the necessary required elements plus any you feel important to the pre-procedure routine.  Of course, the crucial Time Out would be included in that checklist.   End counts?  Only with incisions, yes?  I would be interested to hear from others if this, without an incision proper, is considered necessary.  Good on you for wanting to emulate Best Practice.

Hi, counts only for incisions greater than or equal to 2 inches.
