http://www.medicare.gov has information on facilities.

Scroll down to compare nursing homes. It is pretty general, so you can review it, then ask more specific questions at the facility.

Is there a site that I can check and see if any reports of abuse have been filed with certain long term care facilities? I'm in North Carolina.

I look at http://www.memberofthefamily.net when I want information on LTCs. It will tell you the last two years surveys and how they rated. It will also state whether the nursing home is on the National Watch list.
