I would try to find a Post Acute / LTC facility which takes complex patients. We have a couple in my area that take vents/trachs, and they do tons of IV therapy. Given that you are such a new RN, I seriously would discourage you from trying to branch out into IV therapy as a specialty or even radiology at this time. Get a couple years of solid experience and great venipuncture skills before pivoting to this specialty.

I have almost 1 year RN experience, I work in LTC and I haven’t been able to land a job outside of it. ? I’d like to get IV experience. I took an IV certification course however the places that I’d like to work such as Integrative/Functional medicine centers require IV experience and I feel like it’s impossible to get it since I’m struggling finding jobs that’ll help me get that experience. I’ve applied to endoscopy places and med surge etc. Any other ideas how I can get IV experience? ? Thanks!
