How do I become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or a NICU nurse?

Published

Hello, I am here because I am obviously trying to figure out how to become a neonatal nurse practitioner or a NICU nurse, I love children, especially infants. I want to work with infants and be in the medical field. I attend a community college, just finished my basics and am working getting into the ADN program. I am trying to figure out where to go after that... Please and Thank you in advance.:nurse:

Specializes in NICU.

This is a very common question and you can do a basic search on this forum and on the advanced practitioners under the specialty tab.

NICU is rare in NP programs in that you have to have at least 2 years experience (generally a level III NICU) in order to become a NNP.

Best of luck!
