How harmful is a C in Chem lab?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone,

A few semesters ago I received my first C in my prereqs. For some reason my school splits your Chem lecture grade and lab grade. I got a B in the lecture portion but a C in lab, which shows on my transcript. Im applying for nursing school this semester so that C makes me a little worried. My other important science grades are:

A&P1-A

A&P2-B

Micro-A

As of today my gpa is 3.7 which I feel happy about. But that lab grade bothers me so much. People tell me it's just lab don't worry about it. But I know that there will be applicants without ANY C's and I just hope that it can be overlooked. Do you think it'll be a big deal?

There are so many ways this can go. From what I know, you should be fine. 3.7 GPA is rather a good one, considering the minimum is 3.0 last time I checked. Obviously, there will be students with better GPAs and students with worse GPAs than yours, you never know. All you have to do is have faith! I guess to increase your chances of acceptance, apply to multiple schools. Also, you may want to enhance your application with your relevant experiences such as volunteering at a local hospital, or LTCF. Good luck!

Yes my fingers are crossed that everything turns out well.I'm applying to multiple schools so I'm sure someone will accept me.Thank you so much for your response.
