I'm in a BSN program right now. I really love clinicals, but I don't think one day is enough per week. I'm interested in a externship and I hope to get a student nurse extership position (after the summer externship is over), but I am wondering, is that a hard position to get? If practically everyone in nursing school (or mine at least) has all A's, how can you possible stand out??? On what basis do they give you the externship or hire you? My clinical hospital is NYU (it's supposed to be one of the top hospitals in the country). Would they hire you as a RN after you graduate?
Please if anyone has had a externship or is a student nurse extern give me some tips! Thank you!! )
