Hello, I'm a Florida nursing student hoping to move back to my home state of New York to work. I plan to work in either Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens or Long Island. How hard is it to get a job in these boroughs? I currently have no experience, besides nursing school, and have my associates. However I'm planning on getting my bachelors, most likely before I even consider moving. Thanks

Very hard unless you have connections. The competition for positions is such applicants must walk on water. I've heard it's more reasonable upstate.

Anyone with a pulse can find a job in a nursing home but you won't be getting any job offers from a hospital with only an ADN.

Just to be realistic - you should stay in FL until you have your BSN and 2 years of experience. After that, some job opportunities should start opening up to you.
I had a BSN and 2 years of experience before I moved to Manhattan and my job search took about 6 weeks... which is so much better than a lot of the horror stories that you hear on this board.
