I started as Adult NP, then went back and did FNP. Like Siri, it was to make myself more marketable. Where I live, the ANP limits an already tight job market. My ANP did get me my current position however, with a busy nephrology service. The FNP took one additional year because of how the school offered the classes thus ensuring me of paying maximum dollars for my degree. Good luck!

Say, for example, you started as an NP in acute or adult care, and years later decided you wanted to do something else, like family or occupational health. How hard would that transition be? And has anyone here done that?
