How to get letter of recommendation?

Published

this is probably a stupid question, but please help me.

I will be done with the RN - BSN program this semester and I want to work for a bit and save money first before i go to graduate school.

I will be moving to a different state so I basically will not know anybody like a professor to give me a letter of recommendation if I ever want to apply to a graduate school then.

Im just a little scared and awkward to contact my former professors who would have already forgotten about me for years just to get the letter of recommendation. plus, i will be in another state so it will be difficult.

I just want to know how can i get letters of recommendation if I waited years after BSN and dont know anyone anymore.

Thanks.

While you work you will be making professional contacts and developing a network of people of all different educational levels to provide references for you. These will be the people to utilize when you need references. The most successful of those that I know have used this method for getting into wonderful programs.

Also, start and develop a curriculum vitae as you work as that can make you shine and point out your work as you seek interests in the areas you want to be in. Your professional contacts will use it to as they make their references now. It is much easier to start one and keep it updated than to try to figure out what you should have on it years later.
