How are foreign nurses treated in US hospitals

Published

Hi! Im a Filipino RN who worked in the ER for almost 3 yrs, and I was an ER charge nurse for 1.5 yrs.

I will take the NCLEX exam soon. Im nervous about it but I hope I will pass. My question here is how are new nurses especially foreign nurses treated? What are the difference in working in the ER in the Philippines compared here? This question basically for filipino nurses who are working here as an ER Nurse. Im scared and nervous. I love ER. I need some guidance, and what are the things i need to learn before working in the ER here? Thanks!

In my area, almost all the nurses I work with are foreign born ...many Filipino, but also Indian, Korean, Chinese, etc. They're not treated any differently than anyone else. In fact, they're the majority.
