I Took The Nclex-rn Today. I've Always Considered Myself As A Good Test Taker, But This Was The Hardest Test Ever!! Anyways, I Have No Idea How I Did...but I Am Going Crazy!! The Computer Shut Off After 75 Questions, But I Think I Failed Because I Know That I Got The Last Question (#75) Wrong. It Was An Isolation Precautions Question. I Noticed That I Kept Getting Isolation Questions Over And Over And Over. And The Computer Shut Off After I Got My My Last Question Wrong (i Know I Got It Wrong Coz I Looked It Up As Soon As I Got Home)!! I Heard That If You Got The Last Question Wrong, Then You Most Likely Fail. I Dont Even Know How I Did On The Test, The Questions Were So Vague!! Can Somebody Pls. Help Alleviate My Anxiety?? Also, I Am Working As A Grad Nurse W/ An Rn Permit, But I Know That If I Fail This Test, Then My Permit Expires. So If I Fail, Does This Mean That I'm Out Of A Job As Well??? Somebody Respond Asap!!

Don't panic. Everyone feels terrible after they take the NCLEX. Go to this link to see how the test works: http://www.ncsbn.org/testing/candidates_info_cat.asp

It helped me a lot to understand the test after I read this explanation. Getting the last question wrong does not necessarily mean you failed the test as you can see from this discussion on a CAT type of test. I took the NCLEX on the 13th in the state of California and am still waiting to hear my results although one of the reps at the BRN told me although he could not release my results because my file is not complete that he would give me a hint, he then told me that I had nothing to worry about. I am taking that as a pass but it will be good to see my license number in black and white. If you did fail, you can no longer work under a permit and have to wait 45-90 days to retest, depending on the state you live in. Hang in there and think good thoughts. Hopefully all is well.

i havent been able to return to this page. After obsessing over the NCLEX for the next 48hrs, i found out that I actually passed!!!! From what I was told (though it's not as reliable), the harder the test was...the better you did. And that's exactly how i felt!!
