How difficult are Intro to Bio and Intermediate Algebra?

Published

I am starting my prerequisites this fall. I am very nervous, because I did mediocre to average in math/ science throughout high school (then again, i didn't really try at all) but any way, would you say those classes are very difficult at CC.What are some of your study tips? thanks.

Yeah I'm the same way, I'm not the greatest at it but when I get it I really love it haha, I will have to get over that fear as you did btw great score!

Community colleges can have difficult classes. Sure you might have that professor who teaches as a side-job, but there are other professors who make you work for your grade. I've had a couple of professors who taught at a university and CC, and they expected the same work ethic from the students at the CC. For me both were easy. I hated math, but I enjoyed most of my Bio classes. If you have any trouble, I'm sure it's been mentioned before, ask the professor for help. Sta after class or come before class and ask for help. Hopefully your school has a math tutoring office available. Utilize it. If you're still having trouble, go online. Use youtube and type whatever thing you're learning about... and there's bound to be a video or two about that subject. Still stuck? Try Khan academy. It's free. People talk about various subjects. I found it very helpful for anatomy and physiology. With math, what helped was doing all of the problems I could. Anything I couldn't do, I'd ask the professor. With Bio, I just wrote notes an kept rewriting them until I understood.
