I am starting to apply to nursing schools and one large positive factor about Downstate is that it is closest to my home and cheapest.
I am maintaining a 3.9 GPA in the science pre reqs, I have a 3.8 GPA from massage therapy school (credits are not recognize outside of massage), I took a Doula training class, have great rec letters, have volunteered over 400 hours of direct patient care in various hospital settings and I am now employed by Methodist hospital as a volunteer for L&D and postpartum.
The main issue is my GPA from 2.6 years ago, when I was in undergrad, and not at all motivated as I am now.
They don't look at GPA below 3.0, they tell me. Should I bother applying?
