Hello,
Does anyone have any idea how decisions regarding which students receive which clinical placements are made? In my PMHNP program, some students have already received their placements, while many of us are still waiting. I'm just curious as to how they (faculty?) pick and choose which students recieve which placements over others. Any ideas? Thank you for any input!

This can vary from school to school. Some placements are done depending on where you live and the distance to where the clinical placement is. Others can be done depending on if there is a certain speciality you want to get into. In your case of PMHNP, if they ever sent you out a survey maybe some people chose pediatrics versus adults? Certainly, in some areas, it can even factor in if you know a second language. I have even seen it where one person's placement depends on where another student is placed due to commuting issues. Lots of things can determine placements.
