First post here...
I first decided to try to get into the Associates Nursing program at Georgia Perimeter College, but after enrolling there in January of last year and realizing it was going to end up taking me FOUR years to get a two year degree, i decided to double up on classses and try to finish all the prereqs for a BSN degree...
As of right now, I have been accepted to Mercer and Emory's nursing program for Fall '10 and I am so thrilled. I have also applied for GSU's accelerated 16 month program, but won't know their decision until after March 1st, which is when they start reviewing applications.
The problem I face is that everyone I know thinks I'm crazy for wanting to go to GSU if I get in and not Emory.
Since I've been browsing this forum for a few months, I decided to register and see if any of you could help me out here. Does it really matter where you get your BSN from. Is graduating from Emory going to make me a better nurse than if I graduated from GSU... we're talking 16k/semester vs. 3500/semester here!! Will my chances of getting a job be higher from one, than from the other? Will I get a higher salary?? I don't know... Before I was stressed over getting into nursing school and now that I'm getting accepted everywhere I've applied, i don't know where I should go...

if you get a BSN degree from either one it doesnt matter, on that front. What you may want to look at is what the pass/fail rate is of the NCLEX-RN and take a tour of each respective school. see what kind of scholarships each school has available.good luck!
