Hi everyone! New grad here looking for advice. Ive heard numerous time networking and persistence has helped people land jobs but how did you go about this? Calling and checking the status of my applications usually results in "you can check your status online". I need help getting noticed when I follow up, in a positive way.
A little about myself: I have 3+ yrs experience as a nursing assistant, am ACLS, BLS, and first aid certified, and have volunteer experience at local hospitals, health fairs and blood drives, yet still no job! I've expanded my search from NJ to NC and have just started applying last week to NC hospitals.
Thanks in advance to everyone who may have some words of encouragement.

The problem is that it is up to the person you are pursuing whether to brand you as persistent or annoying.
Remember, these nurse recruiters are called upon, emailed and bugged by every persistent candidate. There's just no going around it. Will it help your quest? Maybe. Will it hurt your quest? More than likely.
The key is to standout and not standout in the wrong way. The best possible way is to have a very tactfully, succinct email. Be straight to the point and thank them. The worst you can do is to babble on and waste their time. An email bridges the gap between persistent and annoying. With a well-written email, you give them an option to respond or ignore at their own pace... plus from what I've seen, it has the best success rate.
So why am email? It shows how effective of a communicator you are. Grammatically correct? Do you use jargons? Are you able to convey your message tactfully without beating around the bush? And if in doubt, just remember SBAR when your writing your email.
Good luck to your job hunt!
