I am in the process of applying to CRNA school. I have all of the pre-reqsGPA 3.5, GRE 1170, 6 years trauma/sicu/neuro icu combined experience. I will hopefully have my ccrn soon. What else will help my application in being picked for an interview?
How about volunteer work, experience, letters of recommendations, reference contact list.............and most importantly sell yourself on that application. Best of luck to you. :)
Make sure you get recommendation letters from people who you know will write you a killer letter (you know that you can sign a waiver allowing you to read your recommendation letters). Also, really sell yourself in your purpose statement or essay, don't be modest!!! In addition, make sure your resume is thorough and reflects on your strong points that is pertinent to the program you're applying for. Good luck!!!!
Tracie :)
Would volunteer work in a nonanesthesia related field (i.e. a free clinic) look positive on your application?
Really sounds like you have all the numbers. get CCRN for sure.
Join ANA, AACN, and any local professional org, as well join or take part in any hospital, unit groups or committees ect. All these things just add to your resume and solidify work ethic and drive.
Really with your good stats I feel your interview will make you or break you. I have personally seen peeps with nearly 3.9 GPAs and 1250 GRE's not get in b/c they totally blew the interview. Start developing a strategy now for interviews. Talk to peeps and find out what to expect, plan things you are knowledgable about to bring up in the interview. Really research interview processes in general and plan a strategic approach to it. Finally practice practice practice as much as you can a week or 2 b/f the interview.
When you do get an interview PM me and I can help you plan for it.
