I am about to graduate in May and I'm starting to apply for jobs now. I would love to eventually work in an emergency department.
A lot of ER jobs require "acute care experience." What exactly qualifies as acute care?
And if I chose to work in another area before the ER, how could I eventually get the ER experience that most job openings require? Would I have to work in a different hospital that doesn't require experience in the ER first? Or could I be a float nurse or something that would give me experience?
Basically I'm just wondering what steps I need to take to get into the emergency department eventually!
Thanks in advance for your help!
