So after doing some soul searching ( only took a couple weeks to FINALLY figure out not to give up on nursing. I was in RN school and withdrew do to my grades during my senior year. I've went back and forth between deciding to do LPN or do my RN all over again or change majors.
So I decided to change schools and do my RN all over again. Clinically I was great, it was just exams that brought me down. I would study and know the material but as soon as the test got in front of me I froze I didn't know how to "read the question".
if anyone has tips on actually surviving nursing school, or more like just the exams I would be greatly appreciate it.
Also: my old school "passing" was a 74 and I was struggling with that. this new school is a 77.
also this should be under the "student" category. my apologies

You want to take practice tests and buy the Saunders nclex book because it has practice questions with it that comes with rationales. It's been helping me a lot right now with family health. I'm in my 3rd semester. Time management is the biggest deal and always studying the first day of lecture. Writing all your notes really isn't necessary because there's only so much time. I basically read read read the textbook until I apply my knowledge. Most questions are all application type so you really have to understand the concept rather than memorizing. Do your care plans as soon as possible so you have more time to study. Say goodbye to your social life but make time for the gym because your alone time is important. Stress relief by sweating because I know people in my program that have gained 15 lbs in one semester. Read and study because you want to know the material. Not just because your test is next week. Best of luck to you
