Houston, TX correctional nursing

Hi,

I'm thinking of relocating from Long Beach, CA to Houston, TX. I have worked as a correctional RN before, and, actually was a detention officer in Bell County, Texas for a while before nursing school. Does anyone have any suggestions on good places to apply for correctional nursing in the Houston area, and what kind of pay I might expect? I'd appreciate any advice.

Have you looked at the TDCJ site? http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/vacancy/hr-home/hr-home.htm

They would have listings for any prison-based jobs in the Houston area. I believe that they are paring down nursing jobs at the TDCJ hospital at UTMB due to budget cuts, but haven't heard that this is happening at any of the other locations.
