Houston Or Bust

:yeah: Well, it looks like the big move to Houston is a done deal. The only problem is, I still haven't made up my mind as to which hospitals to consider for employment. There's A LOT of good hospitals in TMC. I was hoping someone could shed some light on which are the top three, since I won't really have a lot of time to go job-hunting. I'm also interested to see which hospitals offer relocation $$ and have good programs for RNs interested in post-graduate education. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am doing my last clinical rotation at CHRISTUS St. Joseph Hospital and love it. The staff is under contract (I believe) to show a positive attitude and to be upbeat while on shift. This translates to high staff morale, more content clients, and low turnover rate among staff members. As a student, I'm not sure about pay scale, benefits, or relocation benefits - just that the overall attitude of the staff is wonderful to be around. If environment is most important, this is the place. Good luck!

what is your background? i worked as a rn for 18 years in houston (from the texas medical center to the community setting)where will you be living? the commute to the tmc plus the parking issues might not work for you. i really miss houston and the wonderful medical facilities that it has to offer
