Members are discussing various topics related to accepting offers from different hospitals, including signing contracts, receiving information about shifts and scrubs, attending orientations, and delays in receiving Authorization to Test (ATT) for the NCLEX exam. Some users have received offers from hospitals like St. Joseph's and Memorial Hermann, while others are waiting for HR responses or information about start dates.
Hi everyone! I graduated with my BSN and I'm applying for residencies in the Houston area. Best of luck!
Hi! Has anyone not received their ATT yet? I graduated from out of state two weeks ago and the TX BON has yet to process my affidavit of graduation and therefore I have not received my ATT. I'm trying not to panic but MH is really pushing that we need to take our NCLEX like now so we can start on time - but my hands are tied here! Wondering if anyone else has delays?

From my understanding you get the ATT in the state you completed school. Then once you have that you schedule with Pearson Vue and will be able to take out of state.

We finished school on April 26. Our school submitted our info to TX BON on 4/29. I tested on 5/2 and passed. All of my friends received theirs as well

Thanks! I have to get ATT from the board I want to license with, especially since MN is not a compact state so my license wouldn't be able to transfer 🙂 I finished school 3 weeks behind you, so maybe they have longer processing times now. Congrats on passing!! 🎉

Oh OK. Nice. You can also follow up with your school to see if they submitted the info to the correct state. Also did you submit application here in Texas for RN and Jurisprudence?
Thanks I appreciate it!
Be yourself! Express your love for kids and why you decided you wanted to go into peds! Prepare interview questions regarding different situations like what you would do with difficult parents or patients. Express your drive to learn and that you aren't afraid to ask for help! **they want to hear you say that LOL Collaboration with parents, patients and other interdisciplinary teams is important especially in pediatrics! Watch some YouTube videos over interview questions that really helped me when I did my interview I would just put it on in the car and I came up with different answers for each question and I wrote them down. Have a handful of different situations you can reference in the back of your mind that can be used for a variety of different questions they may ask - Good luck!!
Hi everyone, I applied to the nurse residency program at HM West and Willowbrook emergency department for Spring of 2025 and was wondering if you can tell me how many they ended up hiring from your cohort or if you know how many new grads they are looking to hire I interviewed on 10/2 and I am just nervous about the process since no one really talks about how hard it is to get your first nursing job.

For the people who interviewed with memorial Hermann hospital, was it an in person interview or via zoom? I'm out of town and want to plan ahead
