Houston Nurse Residency Fall 2024

Published

Hi! I'm graduating this August and plan on applying to positions in Houston in women's health and pediatrics. I wanted to create a thread so everyone can stay up to date on applications/interviews for the October 2024 Cohorts. Good luck!

Did he say if we'd be getting a phone call or email regarding their decision?

Email

The recruiter at St. Lukes said they will have several interview days over the next few weeks and are still reviewing applications

Not yet, I applied there as my first choice too

Feeling Discouraged

Hello all! I have been looking for over 6 months to be hired as a nurse as a new grad and no luck. I have been rejected to almost every hospital I applied to. What's going on? What are they looking for? What am I doing that has not made me successful! Feeling like my degree is a waste. Any tips? Anyone else running into the same problem?

it's definitely a Houston thing. trust that nothing is wrong with you, your resume, or your degree. if you were to go to another city (Austin or San Antonio) you may have better luck. Dallas is pretty saturated too. Out-of-State would take you in a heartbeat because some states have a greater shortage than others. California is crazy competitive as well

I'm going through the same thing. 6 months with no luck and only been on 2 interviews. I don't think it has anything to do with our resumes personally it's just so competitive. If I knew it was gonna be like this after I graduated I would have spent more time during school to do externships or make more connections. Been very depressed LOL hang in there! We always have other options to get us get a foot in the door other than residency. I'm going to branch out after if I don't land anything this cohort sigh

I think Houston Methodist is sending out the results today. I just got a rejection email from Willowbrook location 😞

They are. My friend just received an invite for the position to oncology/bmt
