Hi all! I'm starting this post for those of us applying to Methodist hospitals in the Houston area for their Winter Cohort '22 cycle. I applied today! What choices did y'all put?

Has anyone heard back? I did the prescreening for mother/baby, l&d, and emergency department.. did an in-person interview for l&d (but I don’t know how I feel about it; think it could’ve gone better).

Which location?

Willowbrook and then I got invited to interview with TMC Perioperative but I turned it down.
RN Simmy, why did you turn down perioperative? I have a prescreening interview for it tomorrow morning. I responded to their email for scheduling it and asked them to verify with me 2 weeks ago. They never responded and I don’t like that. Red flag?
Can anyone describe what the prescreening interviews are like? What do they ask you? What should you ask them?

I turned it down because it starts in January and I needed a later start date (in the event I got an offer). I am noticing that in general the system just seems to move slow and drag their feet.
I’m sure they have a lot going on

So I believe that they are going to ask you about your knowledge of the roles the nurse plays in the perioperative setting.
so make sure you know what a circulating nurse does and their role, what the scrub nurse does, the first assist….
During my prescreening I got asked questions like “why Methodist”, “why this specialty”, “why nursing”, “a time you went above and beyond”, “a time you made a mistake…how did you learn from it”, “a time you had a difficult situation/patient”….
things like that
Hope it helps!!
Perioperative didn’t even call me as planned.
