Houston Community College

Does anyone know much about this school? I don't see too many posts about HCC and what is out there is really old information. What's the deal with having to take pharmacology before being accepted to nursing school? Is this a good school or would anyone recommend another? I was looking at it because it seems to be one of the only programs in Houston that offers evening classes.

What I understand about the program is once you take the required pre reqs and the required score on the TEASV, you will get a letter stating you can enroll in pharmacology and once you pass that I believe you will then get accepted. There are a few posts about the school and I've heard good and bad things about the program which I'm sure is with all programs. It is one of the programs I plan to apply to also because of its evening program. HTH

I have a love hate relationship with HCC. I am taking the pharm class but from what I heard they are changing the requirements and pathophysicology might be added to the prerequisite. We were told that we only had one chance to take the math test and needed at least a 75%instead of 3 chances and having to score a 90%. Then depending on the grade we get. We will be award points and depending on our total points then you will either get in or not. Hope this helps. As the previous poster stated there is good and bad in every program. You just have to make your own decision that's right for you. You also have to attend an info session which is also a part of the requirement.
