Houston Baptist University Nursing Programs

Published

Does anyone know about HBU's ADN or BSN nursing programs ? Is it easier to get in compared to other ADN/BSN programs ? Its a private college so Im guessing the fees must be quite high , does anyone know how high ?

Please provide any feedback you have. I want to apply there as a backup option if I dont get into my college of choice.

Thanks

Hello, I am a former student of houston baptist university's ADN program. The school is very expensive $434 per credit hour! Plus, the cost of books, equipment and lab fees. Each semester books were $300, uniforms $110 and a $100 nurse pack equpment. Also, HBU is a good school, but on their website they state that they take in 125 students annually. If you look online at the BNE the number of students sitting for the NCLEX from HBU is like 38.... so roughly 70% of their students are unsucessful in compleating the program.... only 30% chance of making it through.... :nono: They aren't doing anything to help with the shortage of nurses and they pride themselves that so little people make it through... that's nothing to be proud of. Our class started with 44 and when i left we were at half of that after 3 semesters and one year after my group started it is down to 13. Pretty sad. So, I'd reccomend going somewhere else. Don't waste your time. I decided to go to a school with a better success rate.
