Housing for Rutgers Camden

Hi everyone! I just received my acceptance to the Rutgers Camden accelerated nursing program. However, I am unsure about housing there. I feel that dorming wouldn't be feasible with how strict they are about hours over breaks and such - but at the same time, I feel that it is a safe option. I know I can try some closer towns, but I thought I should start a thread here and gather some recommendations or insight from anyone who is from the area or in the program?

lolaade07, I think I have all my prereqs complete.. I wasn't told anything about completing some during the program, I guess Ill find out during orientation. When did they inform you of those?? I agree with dorming, but its drastically more money than an apartment. And you'd also need a meal plan. In addition to that, you have to go by their rules of moving in and out when the semester begins and ends. I heard from a few people that graduated from law school at RU-Camden, and other sources that collingswood was a good town to live in.. so fingers crossed ! Im so excited though :)

i went for an appointment with my advisor and she told me. the classes were not on the requirements needed so i was shocked when she told me that. dorming sucks but to me it seems more convenient. my parents just want to make sure i'm safe. i didnt dorm for undergrad so i'm actually looking forward to that experience.

Lol I dont think I complained just wanted to know more about the program because ill be moving out there by myself for school but thanks laila26 you are right!

Hey lailaade!! I am also looking at cooper 330 for the one bed apartment looks like we are on the same boat. I think I might have to take pathophysiology and biomedical ethics but not sure yet my counselor didn't tell me nothing about it yet. And I also agree about being safe have you applied yet for spring housing 2015? Please correct me the application is not up yet right it says available soon for Camden after I logged into my.housing account? Is it the same.for you?

hey nsul1990! it is supposedly available but i cant access right now, recently graduated from another rutgers campus making it harder to transition to camden, the only application i see is not from rutgers newark. you should check it out though hopefully i am not placed on a waiting list

Yes i am talking to the director of housing and seems like he cant find the problem either... i just logged into it now, Camden should be available and says to click the link for application below but NO LINK haha so hopefully he'll be able to get back to me soon. Do you see any link on the bottom of the page?

they keep saying they'll call me back and they don't. I am actually pretty fed up with how disorganized they are. were you able to get through?

To be honest you have to be on their butt all the time and I did get a hold with the housing director through email so pretty much he just fixed the housing web so if you go on it you can apply for the housing 2015 contract. But fyi they don't have any one bedroom apartments at all :/ so we will be stuck with roommates I wasn't able to ask if we can pick the apts... But theres a list of roomates and ID if you know someone you want to at least be roomates with..idk anyone so I just put blank. If you are planning to apply and want my ID for the roomate section I can give you it since we are on the same nursing program. I'm still waiting if I can at least apply for the apartments even if its with roommates also you cant redo ur contract..

what?!! lol that's crazy! so why did they make it seem as though there were one bedroom apt? did it get filled up? yes sure i'd rather room with someone in my nursing program. i also just want to apply for the apartments so i wont get screwed over. i def don't want the four bedroom one! which kind of 330cooper did you sign up for? and r u doing calender or academic ? i like the Calendar Contract, 3-bedroom, 2-bath apartment, private bath since we'll be there in the summer too. btw my email is [email protected]

I know they suck! Looks like they don't have openings for the the one bedroom at all in spring. Thank you!! I will email you my id number and my full name.another thing on the contract is space based it says so not sure if they give you options to pick..but on the contract there is mo option to pick where you want..and you cant pick either calendar or academic it just says per semester so I think it's only for spring contract which will end until the semester ends..

they told me it isn't fixed yet and that i would get a call when it is fixed! they should hurry up because i will be on vacation and i wont be able sort these things out. i was assured I have a spot and if I am updated before you i will definitely put you in for the roommate section.
