I have been accepted to attend Drexel Accelerated Nursing Program in Sept. 2004. I live in Atlanta and know nothing about Philly. Can you suggest housing areas? I will not be able to afford expensive housing, however, I do not want to live in bad areas.
Thanks!
I am currently in the ACE program. Graduating in 4 weeks. I live in South Philly just below south st. (Queen Village Area). Just a warning don't get hung up on being near Drexel's campus, you'll never see it. Also they send you all over creation for clinical so having a car is helpful, but not necessary. Any other questions I'd be happy to help!!
I live in NJ along the speedline. I can walk to the train station and be in Downtown Philly in 20-25 min and there are several stops closer to Philly than mine. I think NJ is a great place and allows easy access to Philly for a lot less money. By car, I am 15 min from center city with decent traffic. The traffic can get pretty bad at times, but it is a big city!
Wow, all these Drexel ACE people!! I finished the program Oct. 2003. How big is the class now? My class started with over a 100 but we only graduated about 60. Congrats to those all about to graduate and good luck to those of you who have awhile to go! Trust me, even though it was the year from hell, it was worth it.
Hi,
I'm starting the ACE program in Sept. as well and relocating from California. Did you find a place to live yet? I got an apt in Center City, didn't know any better. Do you know anyone in the program? When are you moving to Philly? My lease starts Sept 18th. See you there.

Several Areas to choose...
I live in "Rydal/Cheltenham Township Abington which are in the suburbs and a decent area with moderate to expensive rates for rental properties, however you would be a good 15-25 minutes away from campus by car with train service nearby.
Or if you are truly serious, I have a friend who owns a few duplexes in Northeast Philadelphia along the 56 trolley route.
It's a safe neighborhood with reasonable rent and nice apartments.
If you like you can actually contact me at [email protected] and I will forward you the information.
If you want convenience, you'd be better served staying in town, however your rent will tend to be much higher.
I don't usually solicit things like this but I noticed the program you applied to and admission date, and I'm considering applying for the same class and just figured I'd tell you about the place that I know he has vacant because another friend of ours who is a CNA moved out and bought his own house not too long ago.
So drop me a line at the above email address and I'll give you his email and you two can talk if you wish.
Good Luck either way.
