Hourly vs Salaried position

Published

In the for profit nonunion LTC facility I work in, managers and supervisors are hourly employees all making the same rate until recently. A staff 11-7 nurse just became supervisor for that shift and she'll be earning 4-5 dollars/hour more than the others. She's a great self advocate and I think she intimidates the DON. Of course no one else but me knows this and it has brought my morale down. What recourse do I have? I know if the others knew this information they would be angry as well.

How do you know that this is true? Do you have access to the records of who makes what?

Every place I've ever worked there has always been one who starts with this kind of thing. I'd bring this to the DONs attention, because this kind of crap always stirs up big trouble.

I also find it hard to believe that everyone is making the same wages.......in 22yrs I've never been anywhere where that was true.

Salaried nurses with over five years experience tend to make less overall than hourly.
