I was wondering how everyone feels about12 hour shifts. Is it safe to work that long of a shift?

Love, love, love my 12s. I am generally more mentally alert at the end of a 12 hour shift than I am at the beginning of the shift! However, I do get "bodily" tired, and prefer not to work 3 in a row if possible.

I think 12s. 8s are too short, 12s are perfect, and 16s are too long.

Once upon a time, when I thought I was wonder woman, I worked 80 hours in 6 days. 16 8 16 16 8 16. Then I had 8 days off. I lived an hour from work too. I was very persnickety by the last 16. I did this for 5 months. I don't know how I did it for that long!

For a while there, over a year, I did 5 12s. Sun night-thurs night.

I work 8s now. I've requested 12s back. I want to do 4 12s a week. I hope that comes through.
