Thanks for posting. I understand about the area. I grew up in a small, rural town near Youngstown and I get it. I am currently in Baltimore and while people are complaining a lot here about the job market, it is like night and day. DH may have to seriously look at other schools, since if he wants to go back to school- Mama's gotta bring home the bacon.
How about living halfway between Ashland and Cleveland or Akron? I don't have a map in front of me, but is that reasonable-in your opinion?
Wow. You have no idea how encouraging that is! If I can be certain that we have health insurance, I can string together a couple P/T positions and made ends meet.
You've made my day!!! I can't believe I didn't think of that but it was stuck in my head that FT meant bene's and PT meant none.

Glad to help. :)
Most RN positions at MCM are PT right now, and as long as you are an FTE 0.6 (which means 24 hours/week) you will qualify for benefits.

Hi Ohio nurses!
My husband is interested in the DMin. program at Ashland U. and I am wondering how far I may have to travel to find hospital employment. I have looked over some maps and mapquested distances to various cities, but it's always diificult to tell what is really do-able unless you live there.
Any suggestions of something driveable?
