Hospital Unit Clerk Program

Published

Has anyone taken the hospital unit clerk program at NorQuest College in Edmonton? I am interested in taking the new online program this September.

If so, were you satisfied with the courses and practicum offered, and did you easily find employment after completing the program?

Thanks.

Don't waste your time. Right after HS, I moved to PHX and completed the Hospital Unit Coordinator program in 1995. I was never able to get a job. One, because I was 19 very little work experience and two, I moved back to Cali (central valley) were it was mandatory to be fluent in Spanish. I just read a thread saying that HUCs are being phased out...

Basically, I paid $2500 to learn medical terminology. Do your own research and good luck in what ever you decide.

Specializes in Emergency, Case Management, Informatics.

Many hospitals will train you on the job as a Unit Secretary/Unit Clerk, especially if you start out as a CNA.

Good luck.
