Hospital and starting salary

Published

Hey guys, I recently graduated with my BSN and remember there being a thread that named the hospital and starting salary a couple of years or so ago. I just thought I would give updated information based on job offers I have received and from what my classmates have told me. These offers are for New Grads. Hope this information helps some people and maybe other people can add to the list.

StonyBrook 70k to start 5k night differential

Southside 82k w/ night diff

Mather mid 70k days

LIJ 84k w/ nights

Hey Guys, i had a interview at x hospital four days ago, the nursing director was so nice and even gave me her personnel number to contact her in case i have any other questions after the interview, Again she asked me to state some of the nicest things my reference will say about if called. i wanted to know is it okay to call on the fourth day to check on the status of the interview? RESPONSE will be very much appreciated beautiful people:yes:

When I interviewed at hospitals, I sent them a thank you email and card about 2-3 days after my interview. In the email I also asked about how long the wait will be before I heard anything. However, two out of the three hospitals I interviewed for told me "you should hear back from us in about X weeks". So I only had to ask one hospital that in the thank you email. They are extremely busy during this time due to all the new grads popping out and applying everywhere so sending a thank you (with a question if you have) would not be a bad thing in my opinion. It may even help you stand out from the piles of applications they have to sort through. Best of luck.

thanks for that

What does that equate to hourly at LIJ? And do u know what their benefits is like, tuition reimbursement, and raises?

About mid 40s an hour at LIJ and I don't know what their benefits are like as I did not accept a position there, but I haven't heard any complaints from my colleagues that did take the job. I've heard nothing but great things about them.

Hi
