Hospital Scholarships

What type of questions are asked during hospital scholarship interviews, especially Broward Health and HCA?

Thanks!

My degree in college was special education with a concentration in english... So Yeah ... this is foriegn to me. It's going to be a lot of work!

Since you already have a degree, you have a lot of options available to you. You can go for the Accelerated BSN or you can get an ASN and then do a bridge into a MSN skipping the BSN. I'm going for the ASN-MSN option for a few reasons:

1. The regular ASN program is so time consuming and challenging. If I were taking one additional class right now, I may lose my mind. BC's fulltime program 10 credits a semester. FAU's ABSN program is 18 credits a semester.

2. I needed additional credits (Intro to Sociology, Nutrition, etc) to apply to the ABSN program. By the time I would have completed those courses and started the ABSN program, I will be almost finish with my ASN. Then, I'll complete the additional pre-reqs and bridge into a master's program.

3. FAU's ABSN program is so competitive that I would've gotten accepted with my 3.3 undergrad average. However, at this point BC's program is becoming quite competitive as well. 700 applicants for Jan. and only about 250 admitted.

the college requires we take CSG1060C (a computer literacy class) or you can test out of it, but I'm assuming you had that as well.

Not sure if this is accurate. The school's literature and staff says this but most of the classes are web enhanced. So, they'll say, "Since you can access the course info and blackboard, you must be computer literate."

Yeah, I have no clue. I went by what the academic advisor told me, but I was going to check with Elizabeth Kenealy and see what she had to say. I have an appt with her soon. Its crazy, I took CSG1100 which is Computer Applications (I don't think this course is offered anymore) which was all about working in Microsoft Office. I mean, if you can do projects in MS Office, then I would think you are somewhat computer literate. The advisor told me I could either take CGS1060C, take a test to test out of it, or petition the college to use my class in place of the other. Hopefully, they will just tell me what I have is fine. At the time that I was thinking of taking that class, the advisor told me it would be Okay to take the computer application class I took, which is why I thought it would be better to take something that would help me learn a little and not be a complete waste of time.
