Specializes in LTC/ TCC/Hospice/Clinic Supervisor/Med-Surg.
Are there any hospice nurses who can please give me advice about the job ? Also do you prefer hospice or LTC............................greatly appreciate any answers and feedback. I'm debating on leaving my LTC position for a great hospice position with great benefits and 3-4 days a week 12 hour shifts???? Undecided, please help, also I'm a LPN in wisconsin pursuing my RN then BSN later.:nurse:
I lasted only 2 weeks in LTC, but have been in hospice 2 years and love it. I work 5 eight hours shifts a week. I am not sure I could handle 12 hour days in hospice, but maybe it would be better if I only worked 3-4 days a week. Good look!
I really enjoyed LTC, but have recently switched to hopsice. So far I love it! I get to go to all the LTC facilities still, but get to leave when the fecal matter strikes the oscillating device!
I worked LTC for a couple of years and have been in hospice for the past 12. My pts are all LTC. I actually get time to spend w/ each pt and speak to the PCG at least once/wk. Seemed like when I worked the floor in LTC all I did was push the med cart. Good luck to you!
