Hospice nursing in EL PASO, Texas?

Published

I may soon be moving to El Paso and would really love any info on hospice nursing in and around EP.

I'm a CHLPN - and so far have only worked in pt hospice. I know those are few and far between. Certainly willing to explore any option. This is my

niche! Get too stressed crossing back over to acute med/surg or tele in hospitals.

If there are any hospice nurses in this area...do you feel safe? Is the pay up to par? (ha! is it anywhere???!) Do you like whom you work for?

Do you work 8's or 12's or on call?

Just whatever you guys can throw my way.

Thanks much!

Hi,

I worked for private, for-profit hospice in El Paso back around 2002 or so. I loved it. We had a wonderful boss (she is no longer with the company). I made about $25.00 per hour. At the time we were paid half our hourly wage if we had to take call. They did not have an inpatient unit at that time (contracted with one of the smaller hospitals in the area). Can't vouch for it now, but greatly appreciated it at the time. El Paso can be a great place to live!
